eRank alternative: measured rank instead of a letter grade

eRank is a long-standing Etsy research tool with a free plan and low prices. This page compares it with Listrank, says what each one does well, and says when eRank is the better pick.

What eRank does well

eRank is built around keyword research. It gives keyword lookups with demand and competition estimates, listing audits, shop analysis and competitor monitoring, and its free plan is generous enough to try it properly. If your main question is "which keywords should I target?", that is what it is for, and Listrank does not do it.

Where a grade falls short

eRank scores listings with grades and scores. A grade is a model of what a good listing looks like. It checks whether your tags and title follow patterns, and it cannot tell you where Etsy actually shows the listing. Two listings with the same grade can rank very differently, and a high grade does not mean a higher position. Some sellers find the grades hard to trust for that reason. A model of ranking and a measured position answer different questions, and you may want both. The measured way is slower to explain but simple: search Etsy for the keyword, find the listing, write down the page and position, and repeat on other days. Listrank automates that routine and keeps the history, so after you change a title you can see whether the position moved instead of whether a score changed.

What Listrank does instead

• Your real search position. A rank check loads Etsy search in your browser, scans the first three pages and records where your listing sits for a keyword, with the three listings just above it. You get a number from Etsy, not a score.
• Bulk title and tag fixes. Fix my shop proposes new titles and tags. You review every change, apply them through Etsy's official API, and can undo a listing's changes afterwards.
• A free CSV shop audit. Drop your Etsy listings CSV into the shop audit. It runs in your browser and needs no account or Etsy connection.
• Passes that never renew. Pro is a one-time pass: €7 for a month or €49 for a year. When it ends, nothing is charged.

Listrank does not estimate keyword search volume, competition or sales. If you need those numbers, it is not the right tool for that job.

Which to choose

• Choose eRank if you are researching what to sell or which keywords to target, or if you want competitor monitoring and a cheap monthly plan. Listrank cannot replace that.
• Choose Listrank if you already have listings and want to know where they rank, fix weak titles and tags in bulk, and avoid a recurring charge.
• Use both if you like: eRank to pick keywords, Listrank to check whether the listing ranks for them after you change it.
